Laser Interface Board
The laser interface board drives the protection board on the laser
head.
This board is designed to be used inside a Caesar box OR a Newport
Laser Driver. To do this there are separate connections on the PCB.
- CON1 is used with a Newport driver
- CON6 is used in the Caesar box
The resistors required in the photodiode gain section of the board
depend on the type of diode being used i.e. common-cathode or
common-anode diodes.
We are now using high-power Sharp diodes which do not have an
integrated photodiode and hence much of this driver is no longer required.
